About Alice Scott Therapy

My name is Michelle Alice Scott Lewis. Over the years I have worked in a number of supportive roles, providing a therapeutic space to talk through problems and find solutions.
At Addaction (drug and alcohol misuse support service), I was a first point of contact for clients referring in for help. And I have volunteered with a few organisations including an LGBTQ+ social enterprise.
Alongside counselling, I am a Health & Well-Being Youth Worker for a local charity (Tavistock Youth Cafe) providing mentoring support for 11-19 year olds. Here I support young people who are struggling with a wide range of needs such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, emotional dysregulation, issues around sexual orientation and gender identity, neuro-divergence and trauma.
Experienced in working within a multidisciplinary team I am able to help people navigate to and coordinate with other support services. Thus providing a holistic and collaborative approach to healing.
I have personally found counselling and talking therapies a transformative experience. Having a neutral confidential space gave a fresh perspective. It has given me the tools and techniques to work through life’s many challenges. I share this to inspire that change is possible. And with respect that it’s important to find the right person, service or technique for you.
All this has made me passionate about providing accessible counselling. Living in a rural village near Tavistock and knowing how difficult it can be to reach services, my goal is to help others access talking therapy in a flexible way that suits their needs.
I am fully insured, DBS checked, ICO registered and work closely with a qualified, experienced and independent Supervisor to ensure my work is kept to the highest standard.*
Through continued training and experience I assist clients to find the right path to recovery. My core beliefs inform the methods I use and at the heart of this is empathic client focus and empowerment.
